Enjoy your day relaxing on a lawn chair in the backyard or sit beside the fish pond and listen to the waterfall. Watch the river, enjoy the boats and you may be lucky enough to see the osprey catching his evening meal, the hawk flying about, or the heron on the other side of the river, catching his food. If not, enjoy the chickadees, blue jays, cardinals, finches, woodpeckers, and nuthatch eating out of the bird feeders.

Bring your own boat or canoe and enjoy a day travelling the river. It will be one of the most pleasurable experiences of your vacation. Canoes can be rented from Wild Rock Outfitters, but arrangements will have to be made by you personally.

There are so many things to do in Peterborough. Take a tour of the Canadian Canoe museum located just down the street. Shopping is a ten minute walk away. We are about a 10 minute drive from the downtown core, which has many unique restaurants and stores. Visit the Festival of Lights which happen every Wednesday and Saturday through July and August. Showplace puts on excellent performances throughout the year. If you don’t have a car, don’t worry. The bus stop is located right across the road and the ride downtown is only fifteen minutes.
Further away, visit the Petroglyphs, spend some time at the casino, or take in a night at the horse races.
